1. South Korea Abortion War Won: Transnational Feminist Activist-Scholars Conversation

Invitation: As a major feminist victory in Asia, how did South Korean feminists win the abortion legal battle in 2018? As of 2026, the legal controversies and policy contentions are going on in South Korea. This roundtable focuses on how we approach the political struggles for privacy, autonomy and women’s rights through lenses of decoloniality, grassroot activism, feminist solidarity, and transnational feminisms. This roundtable bridges US reproductive justice activists and pro choice activists and South Korean reproductive justice activists and scholars.

2. China–Korea Exchange on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence

Invitation: Jade was invited to present her article at the Interdisciplinary Philosophy Workshop: Towards a Human-Centered AI: International Perspectives on Digital Violence and Law held at the University of Kentucky on March 7, 2026.
During the workshop, she observed that deepfake sexual violence had emerged as a serious form of gender-based violence in Spain in 2022, followed by South Korea in 2024, while China had only recently begun to report similar cases. Recognizing that this form of digital violence is rapidly proliferating worldwide and that China’s legal and social responses remain at an early stage, Jade concluded that South Korea’s experience could offer important case studies for Chinese scholars, legal practitioners, and civil society advocates.
To facilitate cross-national knowledge exchange, Jade contacted Ling Li to organize delegation to South Korea. As a result, eight Chinese lawyers, scholars, and activists visited South Korea to engage with Korean experts, exchange perspectives, and explore legal, policy, and advocacy strategies for addressing deepfake sexual violence.
